The hostal is in the centre of the city, close to Puerta del Sol Square.

The hostal repaired in 2001, belongs to an old building, whose stairs are considerer very important for our National Art Heritage, and there is not elevator. Moreover are inside of the historical area of the city, called Madrid de los Austrias. You do not need to take any transport for visiting the most important monuments, go walking to Plaza Mayor, Almudena Cathedral or Royal Palace, Plaza de España or Debod Temple.
The hostal is small and quiet.

Are a few minutes to the main museums of Madrid:
Prado Museum, where you can enjoy the most important painters of the Spanish culture, Goya, Velazquez, Murillo, etc.
Thyssen - Bornemisza Museum, where you can see paintings from Romanic to the most avant-garde of our age.
National Museum, Reina Sofia Art Centre, there is the Guernica of Picasso and preparatory works. There are Somme paintings of Miró, Dalí.
Caja Madrid Foundation is open all the year with temporary exhibitions.
Caixa Forum Foundation also is opening all the year with temporary exhibitions, etc.

Walking can arrive to the Retiro Park with small lakes. One of his doors goes to Puerta de Alcalá and walking you can to arrive to Plaza de Cibeles that with the Oso y el Madroño are considerer symbols of Madrid.

To enjoy going shopping around to the hostal is, Preciados Street, Carmen Street, Fuencarral Street, Hortaleza Street, etc, where there are small shops and big stores.
For those who likes the night life, are Huertas Street, Santa Ana Square, Opera area, Cava Baja Street, La Latina area, Chueca area, etc, that is full of small bars, pubs, discos and restaurants.

Do not forget to visit Gran Vía Street, with his cinemas and theatres, where shows première of films and performance for the fist time, in theatre and dance. Is a five minutes from the hostal.
